A late 19th century Scottish bracelet built from a sequence of mixed hardstones — banded agates, dense jaspers, soft-toned chalcedony — each cut and set in sterling silver. The stones move through translucent greys, iron-rich reds, and muted earth tones, a palette that feels gathered rather than arranged. Some carry fine banding, others sit opaque and weighty, natural inclusions breaking through the surface. The bracelet closes with a distinctive stone-set lock that becomes part of the composition rather than separate from it. Formed within the Victorian tradition of Scottish pebble jewellery, where local stones were shaped and worn as fragments of place. Scotland, circa 1880s.
